We hear workplace culture a lot in today’s society; and companies are trying to find more ways to promote a positive culture, increase employee engagement, and maintain epic levels of employee happiness because, yes, it is that important. A company’s success stems from its people. It’s not hard to believe that when employees are engaged and happy, their work shows for it.
We can’t stress enough the importance of this. Companies have to find ways to engage their employees on a constantly consistent basis. One way we do it is with team sports.
Think about it. Team bonding, camaraderie, company pride, competition, wellness. All this (and more) comes with participating in team sports as a company. We’ve seen the most success with our kickball league. What started as a small group of employees wanting to join a team turned into several seasons and multiple company teams with employees jumping at the chance to join in and participate.
It’s a great way to get employees from different departments or different levels of management to all come together as one company. We have employees from accounting, carrier compliance, marketing, management, and sales on our kickball teams; learning how to play together, how to win and lose together, how to motivate each other, and how to celebrate the company. Even our Vice President of Sales is on one of our kickball teams.
Your employees will bond and grow outside of the workplace, and your company will be better for it. You’re showcasing your employees and company to your community, while getting involved in community events as a company. The list goes on and on about the benefits of team sports. And it’s really easy to get involved with!
There are so many different leagues out there with any sport you could think of: kickball, softball, bowling, basketball, volleyball, soccer, wiffleball, darts, etc. If you’re in the Chattanooga area, check out CSL (Chattanooga Sports Leagues) or GoKickball Chattanooga for a list of their upcoming leagues. Find one that your employees are interested in and join.
